Perspective. We see in wide format, with a perspective close to a 1:2 ratio. Looking at landscape subjects in this way removes the artificial abstraction of the frame. Because we naturally see like this there’s something relaxing and right when looking at a panoramic print. Compositional elements are more strongly defined since our eyes are accustomed to seeing in this way. Maybe the suspension of disbelief is stronger, so placing yourself within the image is more easily accomplished. These images are printed larger to encapsulate that feeling of being in the scene, surrounded by color and feeling.
