Why is it the otherworldly sparks such curiosity in us, almost as if it’s part of a half remembered dream. When I stood on this cliff top, looking across steaming fumaroles to a storm building in the west it didn’t feel real, it felt unearthly. But it was anything but. Magic exists, but not in the way we imagine in dreams. It exists in the love of a child, in the connection to a place, in the expression of self. I stood here lost to these thoughts, absorbed in some kind of transcendental meditation. I don’t why some scenes can spark this, spark a jump out of technical decisions of the moment and into the esoteric nature of your own wandering mind.
