Where you come from stays with you. It becomes the foundational thread of every artist. If you leave, if you really venture forth into new environments, the echoed sketch of where you came from is always there, no matter what you’ve found. The warm comfort of familiarity beckons the artist home, to use what was found 'out there' to create the art right here. I am of Washington, and it is always with me.
