Wandering around Shevlin Park on the western edge of Bend Oregon during the final snowstorm of 2025 I saw this idea of an image start to form. These trees stood out like musical notes on a page. Like an interwoven fugue with the trees in the background receding into minute details. I placed the shadow side of the foreground tree on Zone III and knew I’d need to add some contrast to make the snow pop white.
