Subject isolation is key in all photography. I saw this lone trunk extending up through a gap in the surrounding trees and knew what I wanted. Using the 250mm lens allowed me to isolate this one trunk while keeping the foliage around it as a base. I used a yellow #8 filter to further raise the tonality of the yellow leaves.
