Falling water offers fantastic photographic opportunity. Water movement adds dynamic structure and the bright white tonality offsets its surroundings. The difficult thing is finding a visual balance. I had been walking this trail of waterfalls all day. I had taken several up close, where the water dominated my frame. With this I wanted to pull back, to show it in the context of its rich surrounding of moss and forest. Northwest forests, west of the Cascade Range, are dense temperate jungles.
