I’ve tried to photograph this rock along the Oregon Coast for several years and have been thwarted from; bad film stock, tide, no clouds, dogs, people. But this morning. This morning my sister and I walked this beach. We wandered and talked, and wandered some more. It’s in the moments of life when intention is dropped, and a letting go just happens, and in that detachment water, clouds, sand and rock all come together in inexorable ease. A simplicity that belies the depth of standing there, next to my sister, next to my camera, on a tiny patch of sand, making art.
