The beginning. The start of something is filled with the unknown. The longer the journey the more unknowns there are. It’s intoxicating, this anticipatory feeling of what’s to come creatively, physically, emotionally. It’s in this possibility that all creativity starts from.
I’ve crested Bishop Pass and into Dusy Basin. I won’t be back this way for a few weeks. I find a little copse of trees to setup my blanket beneath and wander about looking for images. I haven’t used this camera much yet, having only recently acquired it. It’s extremely wide angle and the only camera I brought. The sky is cloudless and the there’s a slight breeze. I depend a lot on clouds to give me texture and dimension to my landscape work. Light can be harsh without them, so I wait until the sun starts to dip and soften. I settle in with a reflection and distant mountain. Life is good in the Sierra.
