The last of the days light fades in the west. But I’m still hungry for more images. I scramble above my camp to get a better angle. In the distance Columbine Peak and its massif are bathed in evening light. The clouds overhead are streaming just off center. This will be a longer exposure. I’ll dodge in the foreground in the final print to bring out the granitic textures. These last images of day are alway bitter sweet. It’s the artistic close of day but sometimes the ache still persists. That beautiful need to keep shooting.
