When I made camp next to this stream I had yet to photograph an intimate scene on this walk. This 903SWC camera has such an expansive angle of view I tend to fall into the larger scenes. But here, with this perfect mountain stream I broke from my habit. The stepped granite shelves felt almost sculpted in perfection. It’d make any Japanese Garden designer envious with its natural ease.

It felt calm to sit here. The soft trickle sounds, a days walk behind me, bare foot towing the cold water. No electronics, no human commotion, only the click of a closing shutter and the winding to the next frame of film.
